Life Gets Easier for ISPsCambridge, United Kingdom, 14 June 2000ISPDB Limited, the Cambridge based ISP solutions firm, today announces the release of ISPDB v1.0, a total management tool for ISPs. ISPDB is an ISP provisioning system. It comprises a suite of software modules designed to automate the basic procedures involved in running an ISP: domain name registration and transfer, DNS setup, web space allocation, web server configuration, mail alias handling, POP account creation and customer billing. All customer transactions and administrative functions take place over a secure web interface. ISPDB will enable Service Providers to offer their customers a speedy and efficient service, setting up fully functional customer accounts in only a handful of clicks. ``The idea behind ISPDB is a simple one,'' said Matt Kern, ISPDB's Technical Director. ``By automating the routine tasks that are normally performed by hand we can speed up the service offered to the ISP's customers, while making the process far more reliable and repeatable.'' ``ISPDB provides a system wide solution; it integrates with all the tools that modern ISPs already use, so there is no danger of different products not working together. ``The customer interface puts product configuration in the hands of the end user; control is the tenet on which the internet has been built. Customers can now order domains, configure their email, examine their web hosting options and make outstanding payments without having to play Chinese Whispers with a member of the ISPs technical support staff.'' ``As the whole system is powered by a database, the time to create and configure new purchases is tiny. The administrator can take advantage of the database backing too, to produce up to the minute sales and status reports.'' Features & Benefits of ISPDB
RequirementsISPDB is currently available for x86 Linux, although support for other flavours of UN*X will be available shortly. The minimum hardware requirement is a single publicly networked machine. ISPDB is designed to scale as your business grows; it is simple to add new machines into the ISPDB cluster, and configure them for instant operation.InstallationISPDB can be supplied either as .deb, .rpm or .tar.gz files. Installation and configuration are relatively simple procedures if the target machines are preconfigured for public network operation. ISPDB Limited provide target machine setup, software installation and migration support services.More InformationFor more information about ISPDB Limited, please visit http://www.ispdb.co.uk/.
